Suffolk County Community College Business & Accounting Club presented Career Opportunities with Deloitte with alumni guest speaker Titi Awotorebo ’18. Students across three campuses gained knowledge of company culture and opportunities to enter internships or full-time positions at Deloitte. Starting with an overview of the “Big Four” accounting firms, Deloitte provided pathways for both student careers and experienced hires. Presenters described working groups for Audit & Assurance, Consulting, Risk & Financial Advisory, Tax and Internal Services and how the areas interact.
Titi shared her steps from attending High School in Central Islip to majoring in Accounting at Suffolk County Community College, transferring to Stony Brook University and beginning her career at Deloitte in Audit & Assurance. She highlighted the benefits of being engaged in student organizations. Students in Brentwood, Riverhead and Selden were able to ask questions related to the industry and career opportunities. The team of Deloitte professionals provided valuable information as they were hosted by Professor John Capurso and student club leadership.
