SUBJECT:Take Back the Night march – Thursday, April 11, 2024

We would like to invite you to participate in a highly successful annual tradition, Take Back The Night 2024. Each April, during sexual assault awareness month, the college and local community join to participate in this national prevention and education program, that provides a space for sharing internal and external resources and renews our college’s commitment to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We are grateful to the hundreds of students, faculty, staff and community members who have supported this event each year. Our march is being sponsored by the Take Back the Night planning committee of faculty, students and staff along with dedicated community partners and agencies. You can connect to members the planning team through GroupMe at:  https://groupme.com/join_group/87182383/juOdbOL2

We would like to invite you to this year’s march taking place on Thursday, April 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Michael J. Grant Campus. This is an in-person event that will happen rain or shine. All participants and marchers will receive a certificate of participation and are able to qualify and receive volunteer hours for the event.  Transportation will be provided to Eastern Campus students interested in attending. Leading up to the event, students, staff, faculty and community members are welcome to participate in our series of engagement projects that take place on all three campuses. These activities include designing butterflies and rocks with words of encouragement and allyship, designing lanterns that are placed throughout the route of the walk, informational sessions, and photo campaigns. Each of our community partners also share important information on their services and how we can support survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence.  Throughout the month of April, we also encourage you to post messages of empowerment to survivors with the hashtag #sccctbtn and #shatterthesilence. To find out more about these activities, like and follow the planning committee on social media:
