Envision This: Riverhead Buick GMC Donates Hole-in-One Prize for Suffolk Golf Classic

Time is running out, but donations and sponsorship commitments are on the rise as the Suffolk County Community College Golf Classic inches closer to tee-off time.

Riverhead Buick GMC has generously donated a hole-in-one prize of a three year lease on a new Buick Envision for the Suffolk Community College Foundation / Bridgehampton National Bank 33rd Annual Golf Classic on August 22 it was announced today.

A golfer can drive away in a brand new Buick Envision if they can score a hole-in-one during the golf classic on the 4th hole of the Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack.

“Riverhead Buick GMC has been and continues to be a generous supporter of Suffolk County Community College and our foundation,” said Suffolk County Community College President Dr. Shaun L. McKay.

This year’s golf classic will tee-off on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack. Registration includes 18 holes of golf, access to the driving range and putting green, golf cart, lunch, a cocktail reception and awards dinner.

The proceeds from the Golf Classic will support need and merit-based scholarships, emergency student loans and quality academic enrichment programs for Suffolk County Community College students. Last year, more than 500 students were helped by $650,000 in aid from the Suffolk Community College Foundation.

The Suffolk Community College Foundation Annual Golf Classic is renamed the Bridgehampton National Bank / Suffolk Community College Golf Classic thanks to a generous sponsorship donation from Bridgehampton National Bank (BNB), both the bank and college announced today.

Kevin M. O’Connor, president and chief executive officer of BNB and a Suffolk County Community College graduate (’82) was previously named as the event’s honoree.

“Our investment in Suffolk County Community College is an investment not only in education, but in the future of Long Island. This is where I got my start and I appreciate that education every day.  I encourage more of our best and brightest students to choose Suffolk, and make a career on Long Island. BNB is committed to the success of local business and that starts with the next generation,” O’Connor said.

“Bridgehampton National Bank and Kevin O’Connor are enthusiastic supporters of our college and this major foundation event. We are honored by BNB’s support of the Foundation and our college,” said Dr. Shaun L. McKay, president of Suffolk County Community College. “Our students and the residents of Suffolk County directly benefit from BNB’s presence in our county,” McKay said, “and this is another example of how BNB demonstrates its devotion to the community at large.”

The Bridgehampton National Bank / Suffolk Community College Golf Classic will also feature opportunities to win unique prizes.

Your golf drive might not be the only “drive” you can show off thanks to Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island who has generously donated a hole-in-one prize of a new Maserati for the Suffolk Community College Foundation 33rd Annual Golf Classic on August 22.

The proceeds from the Golf Classic support need and merit-based scholarships, emergency student loans and quality academic enrichment programs for Suffolk County Community College students.

“We are delighted to honor a distinguished alumnus – Kevin O’Connor – who as President of the Bridgehampton National Bank personifies the great success of Suffolk’s students., said Sylvia A. Diaz, Ph.D., LMSW, executive director of the Suffolk Community College Foundation.  “His leadership of the Bridgehampton National Bank, one of Long Island’s fastest growing financial institutions, inspires our current students to reach higher, study harder and recognize the wealth of career opportunities available to Suffolk’s students.”

“Early Birdie” registration is only $300 per golfer, $1,100 per foursome with payment received by July 25, 2016.  Registration is $325 per golfer and $1,200 for a foursome after July 25.

Kevin M. O’Connor is president and chief executive officer of Bridge Bancorp and its wholly owned subsidiary, The Bridgehampton National Bank (BNB).  The bank operates 40 branches across  Long Island  including one in Manhattan and Queens, as well as lending offices in New York City and Riverhead.

Kevin earned an associate degree in accounting from Suffolk County Community College and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Adelphi University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the NYS Society of Certified Public Accountants and sits on the board of the New York State Bankers Association.
Committed to community involvement, he is a chairman of the Principals Advisory Board of McGann Mercy High School in Riverhead and is a past president and board member of Suffolk County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  He was recently appointed to the American Red Cross on Long Island Board of Directors. Kevin was recently named one of Long Island’s top CEOs by Long Island Business News and has been honored for his proactive role in helping the non-profit community by McGann Mercy High School, Eastern Long Island Hospital and Suffolk Community College among others.

Kevin has three sons and resides in both Patchogue and Southold.

‘Green’ on the Green: Riverhead Toyota Donates New Prius as Hole-in-One Prize for Suffolk Golf Classic

Time is running out, but donations and sponsorship commitments are on the rise as the Suffolk County Community College Golf Classic inches closer to tee-off time.

Riverhead Toyota has generously donated a hole-in-one prize of a new Toyota Prius along with a luncheon sponsorship for the Suffolk Community College Foundation 32nd Annual Golf Classic on August 24 it was announced today.

A golfer can drive away in a brand new Toyota Prius courtesy of Riverhead Toyota if they can score a hole-in-one during the golf classic on the 4th hole of the Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack. “Riverhead Toyota has been and continues to be a generous supporter of Suffolk County Community College and our foundation,” said Suffolk County Community College President Dr. Shaun L. McKay.

Toyota USA has a wonderful relationship with Suffolk County Community College according to President McKay. The Toyota T-TEN, Toyota’s Technician and Education Network program is a world-renowned technical training program partnership with Toyota that is a critical component of Suffolk County Community College’s Automotive Technology Program. T-TEN, offers world-class technical training, with hands on classroom and lab training, complemented by on-the-job experience in a Toyota or Lexus dealer service center. Toyota USA has donated more than a dozen Toyota/Lexus automobiles and pick-up trucks to the college for students to garner hands-on training and experience.

The proceeds from the Golf Classic will support need and merit-based scholarships, emergency student loans and quality academic enrichment programs for Suffolk County Community College students. Last year, more than 500 students were helped by $650,000 in aid from the Suffolk Community College Foundation.

Former Suffolk County Police Commissioner, Deputy County Executive and Community College Executive Dean John C. Gallagher will be honored by the Suffolk Community College Foundation at the Classic. Tickets and golf slots are still available.

The Classic will take place on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack. Registration includes 18 holes of golf, access to the driving range and putting green, golf cart, lunch, a cocktail reception and a celebratory reception and dinner featuring raffle drawings, auction and awards ceremony.

Registration is $275 per golfer and $1,100 for a foursome.
