Karin Johnson ’95 is WLWT’s lead reporter for Warren and Butler counties in Ohio.
Karin moved to Cincinnati in October 2003 to work as reporter for WSTR 64’s start up newscast. Immediately, Karin felt at home in the Midwest and with the people of Cincinnati.
Karin is a proud graduate of University of Miami in Miami, Florida. After graduation in 1998, she moved to her hometown of Long Island, NY to begin her career in broadcasting.
After spending nearly two years in Long Island, Karin missed the sunshine in the south and moved back to Florida to work for Florida’s News Channel. She then moved to Panama City to work as a reporter for WJHG.
Karin is excited to be covering news in Warren and Butler counties. Johnson says, “Butler and Warren Counties are growing by leaps and bounds, and I’m so excited to be covering those areas and meeting the people in those communities.”
She is a sports enthusiast who cheers for the Yankees and Miami Hurricanes (sorry Ohio State Fans). She is also a newly converted Reds and Bengals fan!
Aside from watching sports, Karin also enjoys wine tastings, road trips and going back home to New York to visit family and friends.
